The need

Exploiting a cutting-edge technology, the event camera, to improve the perception of autonomous vehicles. This bio-inspired camera will detect changes in illumination asynchronously, offering advantages for rapid object detection in difficult lighting conditions. The ultimate goal is to enable three-dimensional perception for localization and assessment of potential hazards in the environment of an autonomous vehicle.

We propose to develop new techniques merging spatial convolutional methods (CNN) with impulse methods (SNN).
